In
1939, when most young men are being shipped overseas to serve their
country in the Second World War, handsome young doctor Ben Bones is
placed in a "reserved occupation." This means he will serve Britain by
leaving his native London, the only home he's ever known, and going to
live in a wild, untamed part of the West Country. On the night of his
arrival, Ben and his cold, fashionable wife, Penny, are run down in the
street. Penny is killed; Ben is almost crippled. Thus begins MARRIAGE
CAN BE MURDER, the first in Emma Jameson's charming cozy mystery series.
In
his new home, the tiny village of Birdswing, Ben solves his late
wife's murder and meets a host of eccentric characters. Chief among
them, Lady Juliet Linton, a woman with her own heartbreaking past who
is more than ready to love again.
MARRIAGE CAN BE MURDER is
followed by another full-length mystery, DIVORCE CAN BE DEADLY. These
are followed by a romantic novella: DR. BONES AND THE CHRISTMAS WISH.
